Contra desinformação, Facebook derruba grupo pró-Trump que ganhou 360 mil membros em 48h

O Facebook baniu na tarde desta quinta-feira (5/11) o grupo “Stop the Steal” (algo como “parem a roubalheira”, em tradução livre), criado por apoiadores de Donald Trump que alegam, sem provas, fraudes no processo eleitoral dos Estados Unidos.

Descrita como um grande repositório de teorias de conspiração, a página havia tido um crescimento exponencial nas últimas 48h, reunindo mais de 360 mil pessoas.

O grupo ecoa críticas feitas pelo presidente Donald Trump, que aparece atrás do oponente Joe Biden na contagem parcial de votos no país.

Trump e sua equipe tentam paralisar a apuração ou pedir recontagem de votos em pelo menos quatro Estados americanos.

No grupo, apoiadores organizavam pelo menos 12 protestos pedindo a paralisação das eleições.

Alguns dos membros defendiam o uso de armas nas manifestações e falavam em guerra civil no caso de uma derrota do candidato republicano.

Em nota à imprensa, o Facebook confirmou a remoção.

“Em linha com as medidas excepcionais que estamos tomando neste período de tensão elevada, removemos o Grupo ‘Stop the Steal’, que estava organizando eventos do mundo real”, disse um porta-voz.

“O grupo foi organizado em torno da deslegitimação do processo eleitoral e vimos menções preocupantes à violência por parte de alguns membros do grupo”.

Desde esta quarta-feira, o presidente americano exige que a apuração dos votos seja interrompida, alegando que o Partido Democrata tentaria fraudar a votação que determinará quem liderará os Estados Unidos pelos próximos quatro anos.

Os apelos da campanha do republicano foram arquivados em Michigan e na Geórgia.

Na Pensilvânia, a campanha conquistou o direito a ter observadores acompanhando a contagem de votos enviados pelo correio.

Trump ainda tenta paralisar a contagem na Geórgia.

Até a publicação desta reportagem, Biden tem vantagem em Nevada e Arizona. Trump está na frente na Geórgia e na Pensilvânia, onde a distância entre os dois candidatos vem diminuindo.
