A fabricante chinesa de eletrônicos Xiaomi ultrapassou a Apple pela primeira vez em vendas globais de celulares e ocupa agora a terceira posição de vendas entre as fabricantes, aponta uma pesquisa da consultoria IDC divulgada na noite de quinta-feira (29). O levantamento também mostra que a Samsung voltou a liderar a venda global de smartphones, após perder a liderança do mercado para a também chinesa Huawei, que ficou no topo por um único trimestre.

Segundo os dados, coletados após a temporada de resultados financeiros das empresas, a Samsung vendeu 80,4 milhões de celulares no trimestre que se encerrou em setembro. Hoje, a sul-coreana é responsável por quase um em cada quatro smartphones vendidos em todo o mundo.]

Já a Huawei vendeu 51,4 milhões de aparelhos e viu seus negócios serem impactados nos últimos meses pelas sanções impostas nos Estados Unidos em 2019 - a companhia é acusada pelo governo Trump de praticar espionagem a favor do governo chinês.

A Xiaomi vendeu 46,5 milhões de dispositivos no terceiro trimestre - quase 5 milhões a mais do que a Apple.

Há motivos, porém, para explicar a queda da fabricante do iPhone. Tradicionalmente, a empresa de Tim Cook lança novos modelos de smartphones em setembro. Por conta da pandemia do coronavírus, porém, o lançamento do aparelho aconteceu apenas no início de outubro. O ciclo de produção do aparelho foi afetado por dois fatores. Um foi a paralisação das fábricas na China, no início do ano, onde a maior parte dos iPhones são globalmente produzidos. Outro foi a interrupção de viagens internacionais - antes do lançamento de um novo iPhone, engenheiros da Apple viajam até o país asiático para acertar detalhes da produção.

A queda de desempenho da Apple, porém, acabou sendo mais grave do que se previa: no período, as vendas de iPhones tiveram queda de quase 21% em receita, chegando a US$ 26,4 bilhões, sendo que analistas esperavam uma diminuição de 16% nas vendas.

Segundo a IDC, as vendas globais de smartphones caíram 1,3% em relação ao ano anterior, mas a consultoria já sinaliza recuperação em mercados como Brasil e Índia.
