Dois dos mais recentes modelos do iPhone 12 da Apple foram colocados à venda na China nesta sexta-feira, depois que os primeiros dados de pré-venda mostraram forte interesse de consumidores no dispositivo habilitado para 5G no segundo maior mercado da empresa.

As filas curtas do lado de fora das lojas da Apple no centro de negócios de Xangai contrastavam com as multidões que se aglomeravam para os eventos de lançamento anteriores, já que a maioria dos pedidos agora mudou para online.

“Eu me sinto ótimo por ser o primeiro cliente a adquirir o novo iPhone”, disse Yan Bingqing, 30, que chegou antes da abertura da loja e estava em uma fila de cerca de 20 pessoas. “Estou esperando há muito tempo.”

Um novo tom verde para o iPhone 12 também foi um dos principais assuntos no aplicativo chinês Weibo na sexta-feira, gerando reações positivas.

O anúncio da Apple na semana passada atraiu inicialmente comentários divergentes na China, mas os analistas esperam um aumento nos pedidos este ano, com os proprietários leais do iPhone finalmente comprando novos aparelhos compatíveis com uma infraestrutura de rede 5G atualizada.

O varejista de e-commerce chinês JD.com viu as pré-vendas de todos os quatro modelos do iPhone 12 chegarem a 1,6 milhão no primeiro dia do anúncio.

“Do fundo do meu coração, é um pouco tarde para a Apple lançar o iPhone 5G”, disse Zhu Lin, outro fã da Apple que estava na fila. “Eu estava esperando isso no ano passado.”

A Apple e a Huawei Technologies Co Ltd são as únicas fabricantes de celulares que registram crescimento nas vendas na China este ano, com um aumento anual de 35% para a Apple no segundo trimestre, afirma a empresa de pesquisas Canalys.
