Trump autoriza TikTok a operar nos EUA após acordo com Oracle

O presidente dos EUA, Donald Trump, disse que apoia um acordo que permitirá que a TikTok continue operando nos Estados Unidos, após ameaçar proibir o aplicativo de propriedade chinesa em agosto. Agora, a proibição de venda do aplicativo foi adiada em uma semana.

Trump disse a repórteres na Casa Branca que apoia o acordo com o proprietário da TikTok, Oracle e Walmart para criar uma nova empresa que assumirá as operações da TikTok nos EUA, chamada TikTok Global.

Trump disse que a nova empresa será “totalmente controlada pela Oracle e Walmart … Todo o controle é da Oracle e do Walmart”.

Os acionistas americanos devem controlar 53% da TikTok Global, disse uma pessoa informada sobre o assunto, enquanto os investidores chineses deterão 36%.

A Oracle disse que terá uma participação de 12,5% na TikTok Global.

Venda de ações

A TikTok disse que no acordo a Oracle e o Walmart participarão de uma rodada de financiamento pré-IPO da TikTok Global, na qual podem assumir uma participação cumulativa de até 20% na empresa.

A fonte disse que os 80% restantes das ações serão distribuídos aos investidores da ByteDance, disse uma fonte informada sobre o assunto.

Os investidores americanos atualmente possuem cerca de 40% da Bytedance.

Tiktok disse estar “satisfeito que a proposta da TikTok, Oracle e Walmart resolverá as preocupações de segurança do governo dos EUA e resolverá questões sobre o futuro da TikTok nos EUA”

Tiktok disse que a Oracle se tornará o “provedor de tecnologia confiável da empresa, responsável por hospedar todos os dados do usuário dos EUA e proteger os sistemas de computador associados para garantir que os requisitos de segurança nacional dos EUA sejam totalmente atendidos”.

Trump ofereceu forte apoio ao acordo, disse que criaria 25.000 empregos nos EUA. “Eu dei minha bênção ao negócio”, disse Trump. “Eu aprovo o conceito do negócio.”

Cerca de 100 milhões de americanos usam o TikTok e as autoridades americanas expressaram preocupação com os dados do usuário e o potencial da China para acessar esses dados.
