Mas não demorou para surgir o Internet Explorer

O IE, da Microsoft, foi um dos primeiros casos de monopólio da indústria de tecnologia para consumidores

E contribuiu para um império massivo, onde a empresa ditava como a web funcionava

Mas é possível ver como ele chegou a ter uma popularidade assombrosa, e que durou muito

Em outubro de 2002 ele alcançou seu ápice: 95,4% dos que acessavam a internet, usavam o Internet Explorer

Mas ele nunca mais teria tal força. Por essa época surgia o Firefox, da Mozilla

Impulsionado pelo Google e outras empresas que buscavam a independência do controle da Microsoft, o navegador cresceu bem rápido

E não demorou a começar a tirar o posto de rei do Internet Explorer
