O Banco Central ressaltou nesta segunda-feira (3) que os testes de pagamentos com uso do Whatsapp, aplicativo do Facebook, não implicam autorização da autoridade monetária.

“Os testes não implicam autorização do BC, nem tampouco sinalizam decisão final nesse sentido, a qual, reiteramos, deve ser concedida tão logo sejam percorridos os trâmites do processo de autorização”, afirmou o BC em nota nesta segunda-feira.

“Os testes não fazem parte do processo formal de análise do pedido das empresas para operar a referida solução de pagamentos, o qual continua sendo analisado conforme os procedimentos e prazos-padrão utilizados com outros pleitos”, completou.

As bandeiras de cartões Mastercard e Visa afirmaram na sexta-feira (31) que o BC autorizou instituições financeiras a fazerem testes de pagamentos.

O BC explicou que, no caso da Visa, informou à empresa que não há impedimento para a realização dos testes solicitados, mas esses testes não podem envolver a realização de qualquer transação real com usuários e não podem movimentar valores reais em qualquer montante.

Já em relação à Mastercard o BC explicou que ainda não houve manifestação sobre questionamentos feitos pela bandeira, “o que deverá acontecer nos próximos dias, seguindo a mesma racionalidade de pedidos de mesmo teor”.

De acordo com a nota, o BC pretende concluir a análise o mais rápido possível, de modo a logo recepcionar os novos participantes no sistema de pagamentos, com a devida segurança relativa a uma saudável competição e segurança de dados dos usuários

“(O BC) considera um importante avanço o início dos testes e dá boas-vindas a todos os arranjos que desejarem seguir esse caminho”, disse.
