Uzbequistão irá pagar o equivalente a R$ 15 mil a turista que contrair Covid-19 no país


Medida faz parte do programa “Viagem segura garantida”, criado pelo governo como forma de promover o turismo do país, que vem ganhando força. O Registan, a praça principal de Samarcanda, no Uzbequistão Turismo do Uzbequistão/Divulgação Com as fronteiras abertas para o turismo desde março, o Uzbequistão decidiu pagar o equivalente a R$ 15 mil para cobrir os custos de assistência médica de turistas que contraírem Covid-19 enquanto visitam o país. A medida faz parte do programa “Viagem segura garantida”, criado pelo governo como forma de investir no turismo local e aumentar o fluxo de visitantes na ex-república soviética, localizada na Ásia Central. A campanha tem como objetivo garantir a segurança sanitária e higiênica de turistas locais e estrangeiros durante a pandemia. Segundo a Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS) até o momento o Uzbequistão registra 96 mortes por Covid-19 e cerca de 18 mil casos da doença. Sophie Ibbotson, embaixadora do turismo do Uzbequistão no Reino Unido, informou que a ação é uma forma de assegurar que os turistas continuem visitando o país mesmo durante a pandemia. “O governo está confiante de que as novas resoluções de segurança e higiene implementadas no setor protegerão os visitantes contra a Covid-19. Então, se você contrair o vírus enquanto estiver visitando o Uzbequistão, nós iremos cobrir os gastos de saúde", afirmou Ibbotson. O Uzbequistão pertenceu à União das Repúblicas Socialistas Soviéticas e se tornou um país independente depois do colapso do comunismo na Rússia. O país abriga Samarcanda, uma cidade de quase 3.000 anos e que foi uma das mais importantes da humanidade por sua localização estratégica na chamada Rota da Seda. O governo local tenta fomentar o turismo para como forma de turbinar a economia. O país também criou medidas para beneficiar empreendimentos do setor e diminuir impostos para setores impactados pela ausência de turistas como museus, galerias de arte e centros de arte. Empresas locais foram convidadas a assinar um esquema nacional de certificação de segurança e higiene, como forma de aumentar a confiança dos visitantes.
