Brasil alcança 100 mil antenas de telefonia e internet móvel

O Brasil alcançou 100 mil antenas de telefonia e internet móvel em operação em todo o País, o que representa um crescimento de 6% desde maio de 2019, com a instalação de 5.612 novas instalações, segundo dados do SindiTelebrasil (Sindicato Nacional das Empresas de Telefonia e de Serviços Móvel Celular e Pessoal) .

Apesar da marca, o sindicato cobra que o ritmo do licenciamento de antenas pelas prefeituras seja acelerado para acompanhar a crescente demanda da população pelos serviços. De acordo com o SindiTelebrasil, 33 novos chips de 4G são ativados no País a cada minuto.

“Instalar antenas no Brasil, mesmo tendo investimentos disponíveis para tal, não é tarefa fácil. Há no País mais de 300 leis municipais que dificultam e muitas vezes impedem a instalação dessa infraestrutura. Em muitos municípios faltam legislações mais modernas, o que impede o avanço ainda mais rápido das redes”, afirmou o presidente executivo do SindiTelebrasil, Marcos Ferrari, lembrando em algumas cidades o licenciamento leva até dois anos para sair.

O sindicato aponta que existem mais de 4.000 pedidos de instalação de antenas apresentados pelas operadoras e aguardando licenciamento pelas prefeituras das grandes metrópoles brasileiras. “O número de antenas, apesar do avanço expressivo, ainda está muito aquém da necessidade de cobertura no País para promover uma maior inclusão digital”, comentou Ferrari.

Apesar das dificuldades em alguns municípios, nas cidades onde a expansão é possível ela está ocorrendo. Das antenas instaladas nos últimos 12 meses, o maior avanço se deu na tecnologia 4G, com a instalação das redes em 477 novos municípios, no período de 12 meses. As redes com a tecnologia já operam em 4.950 municípios, onde moram 97,3% da população brasileira.

De acordo com levantamento do SindiTelebrasil, no País foram ativados 17,3 milhões novos chips 4G em 12 meses, o que representa um crescimento de 12% no período entre maio de 2019 a abril de 2020. Ao todo, 157,2 milhões de chips 4G estão em operação no Brasil.
