Facebook aceita auditoria no controle de discurso de ódio

O Facebook disse na segunda-feira (29) que se submeterá a uma auditoria sobre como controla o discurso de ódio, numa tentativa de apaziguar o crescente boicote publicitário à sua plataforma, enquanto se prepara para se dirigir a um grupo de anunciantes nesta terça-feira (30).

A medida ocorre após grandes anunciantes, como Unilever e Starbucks, assinarem a campanha “Stop Hate for Profit”, iniciada por grupos de direitos civis dos EUA, que pedem que as marcas interrompam seus anúncios no Facebook em julho para pressionar a gigante de mídia social para fazer mais para acabar com o discurso de ódio.

O Media Rating Council (MRC), empresa de medição de mídia, conduzirá a auditoria para avaliar como o Facebook protege os anunciantes de aparecerem ao lado de conteúdo nocivo e a precisão dos seus relatórios em determinadas áreas.

O escopo e o cronograma da auditoria ainda estão sendo finalizados, disse o Facebook.

Carolyn Everson, vice-presidente de soluções de marketing global do Facebook, deve dirigir-se a um grupo de anunciantes nesta terça-feira, de acordo com um executivo de uma agência de publicidade que estará presente.

O Facebook anunciou na semana passada que colocaria um aviso no conteúdo que viole suas políticas, mas a medida não satisfez os organizadores do boicote, que planejam mobilizar mais anunciantes globais para participar da campanha.
