Celular é ferramenta de 98% para acessar a internet no Brasil, diz IBGE

Cada vez mais presente no dia a dia dos brasileiros, os aparelhos celulares são utilizados por 98,1% dos internautas com mais de 10 anos como ferramenta para acessar a internet. O dado, divulgado nesta quarta-feira (29) faz parte da Pnad (Pesquisa Nacional por Amostra de Domicílios Contínua) 2018, do IBGE (Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística).

Na passagem de 2017 para 2018, o percentual de brasileiros com hábito de acessar a internet pela televisão saltou de 16,3% para 23,1%. No caso das pessoas que utilizaram microcomputadores, o volume de acessos caiu de 56,6% para 50,7% e, entre quem usou tablet, de 14,3% para 12%.

De acordo com o estudo, 37 milhões (20,7%) ainda não tinham telefone móvel celular para uso pessoal em 2018. Dentre os motivos alegados para não ter um aparelho próprio, se destacam as alegações de que o produto é caro (28%), a falta de interesse (24,2%), o desconhecimento de como utilizar o aparelho (19,8%) e a partilha do aparelho com outra pessoa (16,6%).

O levantamento mostra ainda que a parcela que utilizou a conexão discada para entrar na internet já era insignificante em 2016 (0,9%) e continuou em queda em 2017 (0,6%) e passou a representar apenas 0,3% da população em 2018.

Por outro lado, o percentual de pessoas com mais de 10 anos que usaram a banda larga fixa para acessar a Internet passou de 82,9% para 84,2%, acima do volume de brasileiros que usaram a banda larga móvel, que cresceu de 78,3% para 80,4%. O percentual de pessoas que utilizaram os dois tipos de conexão subiu de 61,5% para 64,8%.

O estudo aponta que a principal finalidade do acesso à internet continua sendo enviar ou receber mensagens de texto, voz ou imagens por aplicativos diferentes de e-mail. A prática era comum entre 95,7% dos brasileiros em 2018. Houve ainda um salto no volume de usuários da rede com a finalidade de assistir a vídeos, inclusive programas, séries e filmes.
